Do you need to monitor a particular product variation (having a price of its own), that is displayed among other product variations on the same physical URL?
If that’s the case – you’re at the right place!
Price2Spy is one of the few tools on the market that can cover such complex cases. Since we implemented this feature in 2012, we have been perfecting it and adjusting it for new use cases that emerge frequently. There’s a wide variety of use cases for this feature, but most can be grouped in one of the following categories:
Product variations shown on the same page
Product variations can be selected in a dropdown menu
The product comes in different sizes/volumes, which alter the price
Different quantity tiers & the price varies for each tier
A product’s price won’t show until a number of choices have been made on the product page
Dealing with product variations
Simply put, whenever we encounter a case of multiple product variations on the same page we treat each variation as a separate product. We detect that the product URL contains different product variations, and then we prompt you to select which variation you want to monitor exactly.
We call this technique URL parameters and we have implemented it on numerous (thousands, to be more precise) websites we monitor.
The tutorial video below will help you understand the concept of URL parameters, and demonstrate how you can start using it for the products you’d like to monitor.
